Palm Disappointment, Sunday Sermon for April 5, 2026

Олександр Колтуков • 2 months назад

Palm Sunday is not only a celebration of triumphal entry, but also a profound lesson about the nature of human expectations and disappointments. Often we find ourselves trapped in our own scenarios, where we demand from life immediate changes, success or personal comfort according to our “deadlines”. However, experience shows that true faith is tested precisely when reality does not match our plans. Disappointment does not arise from the lack of higher help, but from our desire to impose our own methods of solving problems on life, ignoring the fact that higher ways are always more difficult and far-sighted.

It is important to realize that God’s “no” or His silence is often more healing and saving than any human “yes”. Every delay in life that we perceive as a defeat can be part of a greater plan, where behind every buried hope is the prospect of Resurrection. History teaches that even when it seems that everything is lost and time is running out, a higher presence is revealed at the very moment when it is able to revive life where we have already put an end. True peace comes when we trust not in circumstances, but in the One who has power over any storm.

When you’re in the “wilderness” of exhaustion, don’t be tempted by quick decisions (rocks) or emotional traps (scissors). Stand on the foundation “written” and do not take fateful steps in a state of weakness. Trust in God’s authority: After every temptation, angels come, bringing promised healing, peace, and victory.
