No matter what we face, we can always look to our unchanging God.

We just need to call on Him in truth.

Praying with truth requires an awareness of one’s own brokenness. This means that we must accept and admit that we have done nothing to make us worthy of speaking with the Creator of the Universe.

God draws near to us because He is good, kind, merciful and humble. And we turn to Him in truth when we humbly submit to His will and sincerely enjoy Him.

That doesn’t mean we have to turn to Him perfectly—we can’t. We just need to be who we are and recognize our deep need for His grace, mercy and love. You don’t have to live together. You don’t need to be free from anxiety, depression, or fear. Whatever moment you find yourself in, God wants you to talk to Him honestly and deliberately.
And although we do not always feel that God is near, the Psalms remind us that God will come to everyone who calls to Him. God’s presence does not depend on our feelings or perception of circumstances – He is there whether we realize it or not.

So come today as you are to the God who loves you. Draw close to God and let Him draw close to you.
