Many people long for a special connection with God, but sometimes subconscious habits and feelings can take us away from this path. Below we will look at five things that can hinder our spiritual development and distance us from God.
The desire to control everything
Although many things are entrusted to man, there are things that are subject only to God. Doing your best, humbly entrust the rest to God and don’t worry about things you can’t influence.
Tendency to compare oneself with others
God has a unique script for your life. But by constantly comparing your path with others, you only turn away from the miracles He is doing for you! Concentrate on how God works in your life.
The habit of complaining
Complaining is an attempt to say to God: “If I were driving, I would do everything better than You!” From such a position, it is difficult for you to hear God and see the reasons and purpose why He allows this or that in your life.
Cultivate gratitude in yourself and remind yourself that God’s intentions for you are always good! (Jeremiah 29:11)Chronic rush
It takes time for us to understand and absorb God’s Word. It takes time to hear Him. Becoming more like Jesus takes time. Make God your priority and take your time when you spend time with Him!
The desire to show off everything
God, seeing your secret deeds and sacrifices for His Name, may reward you openly, but this should not be your motivation.
So whether doing good or simply building a relationship with Him, keep it between you. Relationships with God are primarily personal, not public relationships.
