Four-time world champion in wrestling Larry Pfohl, known as Lex Luger, spoke in an interview with Christian Port about life before and after accepting Christ, – reports the Christian Megaportal invictory.org with reference to Christian Post.
“I was considered the strongest man on earth,” Pfohl said. “I thought bending, giving in or submitting to someone was a sign of weakness, but now, I understand that the strongest people are those who obey the Creator, who holds the whole world in His hands.”
According to the former champion, his new book, Wrestling with the Devil: The True Story of a World Champion Professional Wrestler – His Reign, Ruin, and Redemption, will soon be published.
In his book trailer, the wrestler said: “I used to have a lot of money and women, I was into drugs and I drank a lot. Millions of spectators came to my performances. I could afford everything I wanted, but one day it all disappeared, everything collapsed.”
The wrestler also said that he had to go through difficult crises, divorce and the death of his girlfriend, all because of his arrogance. While in prison, he met and became friends with Pastor Steve Baskin, through whom he learned about Christ. At that moment, she was very depressed and broken, and had already lost all hope.
According to Christian Post, the wrestler accepted Christ when he became paralyzed. The doctors no longer expected his recovery, but God healed him.
Now Pfohl serves at the Shepherd Center Christian Medical Center, talks about Christ and testifies of his healing. He also works for the World Wrestling Outreach charity, which conducts evangelism among young wrestlers.
