Thank you for everything!

One of the scriptures tells us that we should give thanks in everything. What does it mean: for everything?

…if you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your body, a roof over your head and something to sleep on… then you are richer than 75% of the inhabitants of the Earth.

…if you have money in your wallet and perhaps somewhere in your piggy bank… then you belong to the 18% of the world’s rich.

…if you woke up this morning and felt healthy… then you are happier than more than a million people who will not live to see next week.

…if you do not experience the horrors of war, prison loneliness, persecution and suffering from hunger… then you are in a better position than 500 million sufferers.

…if you can attend worship without fear of persecution, arrest, torture or death… then you are a happier person, 3 billion people.

…if your parents are alive and married and not divorced… then you belong to an exclusive group of people even in the “civilized” part of the world.
…if you are truly grateful to God and smile… then you are happy because most people could do that but don’t.

…if you can support, encourage and give someone a few pleasant moments… then you are happy because you give the opportunity to feel the healing touch of God’s love.

…if you can read these words… then you are doubly happy:
firstly, there was a person who thinks about you and gave this encouragement;
secondly, unlike you, more than 2 billion people simply cannot read!!!

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thess. 5:18
Let’s look at our lives and prayers, what do we most often thank the Lord for? What we give thanks for is the basis of our faith. Let’s ask ourselves this question: Do I thank God for what He is, and if I do, how often do I do it? After all, we often give thanks for anything – for various things and benefits, and it cannot be said that this is not right, but along with this we must thank God for what He is and for everything that He has already done for you and me. Giving thanks for the gift of eternal life is a unique gift that no amount of money can buy. And, if you think about it, changing it for some sinful whims is simply stupid.

This is why scripture says that being grateful is God’s will for your life and mine!
There is not a single person like you in the whole world. From the beginning of time there has not been another person like you. No one has the same smile. No one has the same eyes, the same hair, the same hands, the same voice. You are special!
No one looks at life the way you do. There was no other person in all of history who laughed or cried like you. What brings laughter or tears to one person will never bring the same laughter or tears to another person. Never.

In all of God’s creation, you are the only one endowed with this combination of natural abilities. No one in the entire Universe can compare with the bouquet of talents, ideas, natural and spiritual abilities that the Creator has endowed you with.

You and I have so many reasons to thank God and, to be honest, there are no truly serious reasons in your life and mine to grumble at God and be ungrateful.
