Daniel refused to eat food sacrificed to idols from the royal table and this adherence to principles not only influenced his entire subsequent life and service to God, but also inspired Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to follow his example and be principled in following the Lord in such a way that even the threat to their lives did not persuade them to depart from God.
